Background
Mr Farrel was an university professor and working long hours in front of computers. He felt stiff shoulder on the right side of body but left untreated. He thought sports would help with his shoulder so played badminton once a week. The symptom got worse and he could not raise his arm past shoulder for 3 months. He went to his GP and was prescribed steroid injection but the was concerned about the side effect the medicine would cause so he chose to go with physiotherapy and also tried acupuncture with other clinics but the result was minial.
Treatments
Dr Nan checked Mr Farrel’s full body and found extensive knots and stiffness areas in his front arm, upper back and shoulder muscles. Dr Nan performed acupuncture, cupping and Tuina massage and after just 1 session, Mr Farrel could lift his arm. He was so happy that he went against Dr Nan’s advice and went to play badminton the same week. Dr Nan strongly advised him to rest at least a month and after a few more sessions of treatment, Mr Farrel could live a normal life and he continued playing his beloved badminton.
